Taking this as an opportunity, the Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit officially launched the annual Carbon Neutrality Action Leadership Award. The Award followed the standards of the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and the UN-supported “Race to Zero” initiative. In the future, Phoenix TV will persist in establishing more inclusive zero-carbon mission communication platforms together with various cooperative organizations.

Later, Marco Lambertini, Director General of the WWF, pointed out that today’s Summit marks a shift in climate action to focus on the scale and pace of low-carbon development in the future. People should change their thinking and cherish nature, and countries worldwide should act to make full use of natural resources to combat climate change.

Siddharth Chatterjee also addressed the 2021 Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit. He pointed out that China’s statements and commitments are entirely consistent, and these goals are closely integrated with China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. He added that China’s solid political wills would inspire governments, businesses, and NGOs worldwide.

John Edwards, the British Trade Commissioner to China, highlighted the central role of business in climate action and proposed that each nation should accelerate the transition to green and resilient economies.

In his opening speech, John Murton, Special Envoy for the UN Climate Change Conference, pointed out that Chinese enterprises have become important members of the “Race to Zero” alliance. However, achieving climate action goals will require fundamental shifts in the global economy. Therefore, more businesses should be encouraged to join the “Race to Zero” alliance to support the Glasgow Negotiations and the global economy.

Albert Gore, Former US Vice President, delivered a congratulatory message to the Summit. He offered three suggestions on how to phase out fossil fuels in the near term.
